History of CTBC Bank
Established in 1966, CTBC Bank Co., Ltd. has been through three major stages of development. It started out as China Securities Investment Corporation and was later changed into China Investment and Trust Co., Ltd. In 1992, it was converted to a commercial bank with business scopes covering deposits, loans, guarantees, foreign exchange services, offshore banking unit (OBU), trust business, credit cards, securities, bonds, derivatives, e-banking, and the national lottery agent business. Since May 17, 2002, it has become one subsidiary of CTBC Financial Holding Co., Ltd.
Based on our business principles of “Integrity” and “Caring”, CTBC Bank is proud to have offered many innovative services,
including the first bank in Taiwan to issue credit cards, the first to set up a customer service center, and to provide foreign exchange machine in convenience store. With the commitment to achieving excellence and innovation, we continue to lead in the financial industry. As of 2017, consolidated asset size reached NT$3.76 trillion, ranking the largest among privately-owned bank and the sixth consecutive year listed with top brand values of banking industry in Taiwan.
Global Distribution
To date, CTBC Bank has a total of 151 branches in Taiwan and 110 overseas outlets located in the US, Canada, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Myanmar, and Australia. CTBC has the most extensive international network among Taiwanese financial institutions.

Singapore Branch (“SGB”) Overview
Brief Introduction and History of SGB
Singapore Branch (“SGB”) is part of the family of CTBC branches and subsidiaries in South East Asia. SGB commenced banking operations in 2009 with Corporate & Institutional Banking (“C&IB”) as the pioneer team focusing on top-tier corporate clients in Asia through syndication and bilateral relationships. In 2012, both the Financial Institutions Department (“FI”) and the International Private Banking division (“IPB”) were set up to offer trade-related products to major financial institutions in South East Asia and comprehensive wealth management services to high net worth individuals. In 2013, the Middle Market team (“MM”) was set up to enhance CTBC’s presence in the Singapore market through serving middle size corporations.
Scope and Performance of Business
SGB leverages on its location and the well-established, vibrant banking environment to position itself as a key financial hub among the family of CTBC branches and subsidiaries in South East Asia. SGB offers a comprehensive line of products to fulfill the needs of clients. SGB has and will continue to engage cross-border collaborations with customers from around the Asia Pacific region as well as our overseas branches as part of the bank’s initiative towards internationalisation.
